We have a favorite waiter at Bella Vita, so my mother in law requested her. Linda treats us like celebrities. We really like her. She is so personable and made sure we always had everything we needed. A real asset to the place! The food was as wonderful as I remembered. The walleye is one of their specialties. Lots of traditional Italian foods, with a local Michigan influence from the ingredients. It was morel season, so I had to have a cup of morel bisque. HEAVEN! Lots of mushroom-licious flavor. The walleye had a mozzarella crust and a sauce that was creamy without being heavy. I think hubby picked the best dessert of all: Triple Crown Pie, with multiple layers of flavor. I had the flourless chocolate torte. See all my delicious photos! I noticed that the gluten free items are marked on the menu. I remembered that Bella Vita gets noisy due to hard surfaces, so I got my mother in law to agree to getting us there early so that we'd be able to hear ourselves talk. It was also early in the season, so the room never filled up and I never had to resort to my trusty ear plugs.

Been there many times over the last several years. The name changed when Mary and John sold the restaurant, but the basic great food has remained with the new owners. It is always a treat to go there, especially when Linda serves our table. I like the welcome that Kelly gives us when we walk in the door--it feels like home. We will be going back, that's for sure!

We have recently been spending time in Boyne coming from Ann Arbor. Bella Vita looks so inviting from the road so we decided to give it a shot. We had a very pleasant experience. Service was friendly and attentive. Warm bread and soft butter kicked it off. A very nice touch. The wine list is short but has some very good selections. Didn't love the minestrone soup but the entrees were excellent. We split a Chicken Parm. In a world were there is a lot of bad chicken parm out there, this one was great. A little crispy which I love and the sauce was tasty. Everyone else loved there entrees and the staff were excellent with our kids, even after a big spill. This is certainly going to make our rotation and it seems like a great place for the winter. Very cozy!

This restaurant was on my list for years. I really enjoyed the experience. The staff was great. t the owner stopped by our table and chatted with us. The Mushroom Bisque was sincerely one of the best I have ever had. My pasta dish was very good and a large portion. I had to bring it home and it was even great for lunch on Sunday. They have wonderful hot bread when you arrive. I wish I had room for dessert but I did not. They looked very taste from what I saw go by the table. I will certainly go back again when I am in town. I would certainly give it a try. The atmosphere and dining room was very fresh and attractive.

Very delicious. We had walleye, gnocci, chicken pasta, parmigian chicken. All meals were extremely good. Pleasantly surprised for such great Italian food 'up north'.

We returned here once again to enjoy our favorite dinner and wouldn't you know it, they have taken it off the menu. Oh well, we all tried something else and were pleasantly surprised. You can't go wrong with their meals and you certainly won't want for water as the young lady there is always making sure your water glass is full. We will be back for another delicious dinner when we're up in the area.

I wanted to have a nice night out with my wife and she loves Italian. We stopped here because 20 years ago this was where he grandparents went when they came up here. Although owners have changed since then, the place has not. It still has a classic northern Michigan look on the outside and the interior has an older feel but nothing really outdated. The place was pretty packed so we sat at the bar and proceeded to engage the bartender in conversation. She was very friendly and was able to suggest several dishes, two we ordered. The morel linguine was beautiful. the local morels carried the right amount of earthiness and robustness with the brandy cream sauce. The home made pasta was the star of the show. I also ordered the beef carpaccio as an app and was pleasantly surprise. the beef was expertly sliced and the mixture of lemon zest, herbs, and cheese the sprinkled on top really made it an appetizer not to be missed. This place is worth checking out. The staff is friendly and knowledgable, the food is fresh and amazing.

Our first tme at Bella Vita and it was a great experience. Our server Linda was a gem! My husaband took her suggestion and had the walleye and was more than pleased. I had 2 appetizers - the carpacchio - which was the best I have ever had and the scallops that had a wonderful sauce! A return trip is definitely planned! Val

Wonderful! We were skeptical that anyone could take over John and Mary's "Monte Bianco" and make a go of it, much less improve on it. Wow, we were delighted to be proven wrong. The food continues to be fresh and tasty and the service is outstanding. We are delighted that they have stayed open year round. Go there!

The walleye is amazing!!! We bought a gift certificate for my patents so they can try it too! Great beer and wine! We loved it!

It was our first time to this restuarant. The waitress suggested Walleye. My wife and sister took her suggestion. The Walleye was very good. I did not stick with the waitress suggestion and was somewhat disappointed with my seafood and pasta in Marinara Sauce. I would certainly go back and give it another try----and listed to the waitress the next time.

Bella Vita is so awful that my boyfriend and I spent the duration of our meal pondering how in the world they get away with charging such obscene prices for such lackluster food. But before we get into the food, first, let's talk about ambience. The interior is like walking into a time capsule of the saddest, dumpiest apartment circa 1987, right down to the black metal-tube chairs and mirrors on every wall. Golden bars atop the half-walls near the entrance create a strange, IHOP-like feel in that area of the room. I have no idea what they were thinking. As for service, we had made reservations but had to wait for a good 40 minutes before our table was ready. This kind of thing doesn't bother me all that much as I work in the restaurant industry and understand that the unexpected can happen, but I know it is upsetting to some and is therefore worth noting. Our food also took a very long time to come out. We only ordered entrees and did not hang around after we finished eating, but the whole dining ordeal took 3 hours. As for the food, it is severely lacking. The entrees all sounded good in theory, but in practice were incredibly bland. I foolishly chose to "upgrade" my dinner salad to a caesar per the recommendation of a frequent diner (let it be noted that this same frequent diner waxed poetic about the delicious blend of herbs that comes with the bread, and was disappointed when the owner refused to reveal the contents of the top-secret herb blend. Anyone with eyeballs and tastebuds will be able to tell you that it is generic "Italian Seasoning" placed in a shaker for your convenience.) Anyway, this caesar salad that I heard so much about turned out to be just a few pieces of romaine lettuce absolutely covered in crumbled parmesan cheese. It was not dressed. Maybe there was a hint of olive oil, but certainly nothing else (and mind you I am not the type of person who likes a heavily-dressed salad. It really just wasn't there). Somehow, my pasta dish proved to be even more of a disappointment than the salad. I had ordered ravioli stuffed with roasted vegetables in a tomato sauce, and I received 4 normal-sized (like 1.5") ravioli on a plate with some "tomato sauce". The ravioli were filled mostly with mozzarella cheese, though I did find one fragment of eggplant skin and a sliver of zucchini in one of them. The sauce tasted like they had warmed up a can of stewed tomatoes and called it a day. I know it isn't tomato season, but come on, at $20+ a plate you could at least throw a little salt or garlic or something in there. I sampled 3 other pasta dishes and all were equally terrible, with the exception of my dad's chicken pesto thing, which was a solid mediocre. I would totally pay 5 bucks for it. But $25? People are insane to eat here with so many decent food options in the area. I will definitely never be back.

I enjoy everything about Bella Vita. The owner and staff are friendly, professional, and make every effort to see that you enjoy your dining experience. The food is exceptional!

The service is embarrassing . I brought group of @16 and they refused service until I coaxed them into changing their mind. The restaurant was empty and the reservation book was open. The owner is obnoxious and she is just downright rude. My meal was not undercooked but a raw chicken dish. I asked them to re -cook the dish and she poked her finger into the meat and said it was all right and told me not to complain. Save your money and health. Don't go

I will not be going back. I ski Boyne a lot and have gotten pretty comfortable venturing out on my vacations there. This restaurant capitalizes on the overflow from the resort. Price: We spent $250 on 2 bottles of wine, 2 appetizers, and 4 entrees. I'd say steep for what was delivered. It's too often places just increase price to fall into the category of "fine dining." Food: My chicken artichoke marengo ($23) was boring. The chicken was like the little tiny frozen chicken breasts out of the Meijer bag. I feel like they just put it on the menu to have a bigger menu. If something sucks, just take it off the menu and it'll be okay. However, the Walleye and Filet looked good. The meat pasta and pesto pasta tasted good. The elephant garlic cheese appetizer was also good. The bruchetta was a ton of mozzerella, and very few tomato slices. Wrong proportions there. Wine menu was good. Atmosphere: Reminded me of American Psycho. So I guess that would be 1980s. No music. Staff: The wait staff was nice, they choose their words well when running through menu items and answering questions. The young owner lady was over the top. Limit your interaction. Also seemed to treat regulars with a lot more respect that people with reservations. You can only do this for so long before the yelp reviews catch up with you. I see someone else on here posted that they had a very combative situation and I'm guessing it was with this woman. Conclusion: Don't spend your money here until you start seeing some better yelp reviews.

Recommended by a local. Nice comfortable decor and background music. Attentive pleasant service. House cured salmon was excellent. Nice presentation. It was morel season so ordered the cream of morel soup. Disappointed as all the mushrooms were purried. Was good but could have been special. Salad boring as stated in another review. Two of us ordered the planked salmon and specifically told our server that we only like salmon medium rare. Of course it arrived looking like it had travelled through Death Valley on the hood of our car so they were sent back. The manager came to our table and explained it was perfectly prepared (black and dry) and that the chef only prepares it that way. And that they need a permit to send it out rare (health reasons ). Only someone who had never been dining out before would believe that story. (What happened to the old warning on the bottom of the menu? We weren't asking for sushi here.) Secondly if the chef (cook in this case) can't try to please us then tell us in advance when we made our request. They substituted the walleye which was over browned and lost its sweetness and was average but acceptable to many. Overall, would not return unless they hire an actual chef who is up to the menu.

VERY Rude staff!! Probably the most combative situation I have ever encountered.

The reviews are obviously from staff or friends of the new owner. We have been to this restaurant a dozen times with the past owner. The Walleye is still the old recipe and was good, but otherwise the experience was sadly lacking. Kelly was surly at best and very unprofessional. The chicken was served raw and Kelly was very rude about fixing the problem. If you are not one of her "regulars" you are at risk. Boyne City has some wonderful restaurants which this used to be one of them. Unfortunately, this is now a restaurant to avoid.

  • Louise W.

I can see the owners make sure to remove the reviews that are not complimentary. We had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. Owners are extremely unprofessional - you definitely had to be one of the regulars to receive any service. Website indicated the restaurant did not accept reservations. We arrived and were placed on a wait list and told we should have made a reservation. When we confronted the owners about this discrepancy we were met with hostility and very unprofessional behavior. After waiting well past our 30 minute time that we were told would be our wait time, we were to told it would still be another 45 minute wait. The owners were angry at us for raising the issue and made no attempt to offer a solution. It appears from another review there was a similar experience with unprofessional behavior from owners. Obviously the owners are not concerned with new customers. Would NOT recommend this establishment.

Greeted by Kelly herself, the experience started as soon as we walked through the door. Highly recommend the parmesan crusted walleye or the fillet with gorgonzola...both were out of this world! The attention to detail went as far as our own personalized martini. If your in the area don't miss the opportunity to enjoy this fine dining! Thank you Kelly, Matt and Ryan for a truly fun experience!

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
